The fire protection program is based on the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association and local state regulations. Fire Protection personnel respond to all fire alarms activated on campus to assess the situation and assist the Indianapolis Fire Department in the case of actual fires.
Another primary function is to survey the campus for fire hazards and to assure compliance with applicable fire codes. Fire Protection personnel are available for training on various topics such as fire extinguisher use and safety. Fire Protection Services maintain fire alarm systems and provide for the temporary shutdown of fire detection systems when necessary.
